Nikko Chemicals\n        has formulated and published \u201cThe Nikko Chemicals Co., Ltd. Human Rights Policy\u201d to further advance its human\n        rights initiatives.<br \/>Our commitment under this policy is based on the principles of fundamental rights set\n        out in the International Bill of Human Rights, consisting of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the\n        International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and\n        Cultural Rights. This is in line with the United Nations\u2019 \u201cGuiding Principles on Business and Human Rights,\u201d and\n        the International Labor Organization\u2019s \u201cDeclaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.\u201d Our policy\n        was also formulated with reference to the rights of children and women as described in the United Nations\n        Convention on the Rights of the Child and the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of\n        Discrimination against Women. In addition, Nikko Chemicals complies with the \u201cOECD Guidelines for Multinational\n        Enterprises\u201d and the \u201cChildren\u2019s Rights and Business Principles.\u201d<br \/>Nikko Chemicals will comply with the\n        domestic laws of each country and uphold internationally recognized human rights standards in all regions where\n        we operate. In cases where the two are in conflict, we will comply with the domestic laws of the country while\n        seeking ways to respect international human rights as much as possible. We also prohibit discrimination, forced\n        labor, human trafficking, and child labor, and strive to ensure a safe and healthy working environment, with\n        individual dignity for all workers. The system covers all personnel engaged in\n        group operations, including directors, regular employees, contract employees, and part-time workers. The NIKKOL GROUP\n        started using this system throughout the group in 2020 and continues to actively use it. Unlike business\n        meetings and interviews for progress checks and evaluations, the purpose of these one-on-one conversations is to\n        promote mutual understanding between managers and the teams they manage, and to support the employees\u2019 medium-\n        to long-term growth. This system gives employees a space to share their feelings, and any challenges or worries\n        they may be experiencing, enabling them to receive encouragement and support from their managers. In this way,\n        the 1on1 system facilitates good relationships between managers and their team members, and provides\n        opportunities for employees to experience growth and development.\n      <\/p>\n    <\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n  <p class=\"headline-new\">Work Styles<\/p>\n\n  <div class=\"row row-md gap-mb4 container05-4\">\n    <div class=\"col\">\n      <h3 id=\"04\" class=\"headline-lv4 csr-headicon_earth_left\">Diverse work styles and work-life balance<\/h3>\n      <p>\n        The NIKKOL GROUP offers various work styles so that employees can choose to work in a way that best suits their\n        individual life stages. Nikko Chemicals has introduced a flexible time system to improve work-life balance and\n        foster employee autonomy. We have seen results in our efforts to improve productivity by promoting the use of\n        remote work\/teleworking, in addition to optimizing work hours (reducing overtime hours) and encouraging\n        employees to take paid leave. The entire NIKKOL GROUP promotes health\n        management through a range of activities. We take measures to ensure not only the physical health of employees\n        but also their mental health. We encourage employees to undergo regular health checkups, medical examinations,\n        and follow-up examinations, in addition to providing guidance on daily diet and encouraging appropriate\n        exercise. We are engaged in projects on a Group-wide basis that facilitate\n        international hiring. The number of nationalities of employees is increasing annually. At Nikoderm Research, the figure is 20%, and at Nikko Chemicals\n        (Singapore), it is 33%. In addition, Nikko Chemicals and Nippon Surfactant Industries have formulated a general\n        employer action plan based on Japan\u2019s Act on Advancement of Measures to Support the Development of the Next\n        Generation and the Act on Promotion of Women\u2019s Participation and Advancement in the Workplace. The NIKKOL GROUP\n        has launched a project to promote the advancement of women throughout the group and aims to operate as a diverse\n        company that promotes talent regardless of gender.\n      <\/p>\n      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nikkol.co.jp\/wp-content\/themes\/nikkol-ver1\/assets\/images\/csr\/csr05-new\/ren-photo05-07-en.png\" \/>\n    <\/div>\n    <div class=\"col men\">\n      <h3 id=\"08\" class=\"headline-lv4 csr-headicon_stars\">Promoting paternity leave for men<\/h3>\n      <p>\n        The NIKKOL GROUP is working on a project to promote childcare leave for not only female employees, but also male\n        employees. <br \/>We work to raise awareness by providing information and distributing pamphlets to encourage\n        employees to take childcare leave. Because of these initiatives, the number of men taking childcare leave has\n        increased every year since 2021, with 8 employees taking it in FY2024-2025. Nikko Chemicals\n        introduced a relaxed dress code in 2021, aiming not only to save energy throughout the year but also to\n        stimulate communication between employees, generate flexible and new ideas, and increase motivation and work\n        efficiency.\n      <\/p>\n    <\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n  <p class=\"headline-new\">Ethics and Social Contribution<\/p>\n\n  <div class=\"row row-md gap-mb4 container05-8\">\n    <div class=\"col\">\n      <h3 id=\"10\" class=\"headline-lv4\">Basic information security policy<\/h3>\n      <p>\n        At the NIKKOL GROUP, we aim to elevate corporate management to a higher level by appropriately managing all\n        intelligence assets, including the information entrusted to us, in terms of both utilization and storage. The aim of these events is to give children opportunities to\n        become familiar with the raw materials that go into cosmetics, mainly surfactants, which are our main products.\n        Through simple experiments and quizzes, exploring participants\u2019 favorite skin care creams, and making their own\n        skin care creams, we provide an opportunity for children to enjoy learning about the special features of\n        surfactants, which are useful in various aspects of our daily lives.\n      <\/p>\n      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nikkol.co.jp\/wp-content\/themes\/nikkol-ver1\/assets\/images\/csr\/csr05-new\/ren-photo05-11.png\" \/>\n    <\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n  <h3 id=\"12\" class=\"headline-lv4\">International Contribution Linked to Business: Donation of Seedlings to Laotian Coffee Farmers Through JILAF<\/h3>\n  <div class=\"row row-md gap-mb4 container05-9\">\n    <div class=\"col\">\n      <p>\n        The NIKKOL Cafe Series, marketed by Nikko Chemicals, is a range of cosmetic ingredients made by upcycling coffee\n        grounds (coffee powder) after extraction. From the sales of the NIKKOL Cafe Series in fiscal 2024, we donated\n        5,000 coffee seedlings to coffee growers in Ithu Village, Champasak Province, Laos, through the Japan\n        International Labour Foundation (JILAF). The seedlings were grown from seeds and planted at a local farm in June\n        2025.
