NIKKOL GROUP, a leading Japanese cosmetic specialty chemical provider, today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to establish a cosmetic ingredients joint venture with Amyris, Inc., the industrial bioscience company. The joint venture will be located in the United States in 2017. The investment ratio will be 50% each from the NIKKOL GROUP and Amyris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NIKKOL GROUP has been involved in the sugarcane-based Squalane business since the product\u2019s inception by Amyris. By establishing a joint venture company, we have implemented a system to correspond to future expansion demands for products such as “NIKKOL SUGARSQUALANE” and “NEOSSANCE HEMISQUALANE (HYDRATION FARNESENE)\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also, we aim to expand our business in the global market by taking advantage of the experience of supplying Squalane for about 60 years. In addition, we have our sights on setting up a joint venture for an overseas manufacturing base to complement our operations in Singapore. We are planning to develop sustainable and innovative products through the synergy of the colloid chemistry and dermatological technology of NIKKOL GROUP and the biotechnology of Amyris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
