In response to the recent release of ALPS-treated water into the ocean, Nikko Chemicals Co., Ltd., is disclosing information regarding our monitoring and measuring activities in collaboration with our manufacturing partner Nippon Surfactant Industries Co., Ltd., to ensure that our facilities and products are not exposed to radiation. Our activities are in addition to any monitoring conducted by the Japanese government in the affected sea area.
NIKKOL GROUP, to which Nikko Chemicals and Nippon Surfactant Industries belong, has “safety, security, and stable supply” as one of its corporate policies. Even in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake, we conducted radiation measurements of production sites and products, disclosing the information based on the same policy.
Finally, we ask that you understand that this response is not a radiation measurement based on concerns about the release of ALPS treated water into the ocean, which is carried out in accordance with international standards, but rather a disclosure of information regarding the safety of our products.
