A portion of sales from the “NIKKOL Cafe Series” cosmetic ingredients upcycled from used coffee grounds is donated to charity. Delivering 5,000 coffee seedlings to farmers in Laos to promote the growth of a sustainable coffee industry.

Nikko Chemicals Co., Ltd. has donated a portion of fiscal year 2024 sales from its “NIKKOL Cafe Series,” a line of cosmetic ingredients upcycled from used coffee grounds, to coffee growers in Itou Village, Champasak Province, Laos, through the Japan International Labour Foundation (JILAF). Thanks to this donation, 5,000 coffee seedlings have been cultivated from seeds and planted at local farms.

The “NIKKOL Cafe Series” utilizes spent coffee grounds to create upcycled cosmetic ingredients. This initiative was made possible through the cooperation of JILAF, reflecting our commitment to promoting resource recycling and giving back to coffee-producing regions around the world.

Building on this initiative as a first step, we will continue to support coffee farmers and the coffee industry in Laos. Our goal is to help create a sustainable future by returning a portion of the profits generated through product sales to society and contributing to the betterment of life for all those involved.
